Why the night run changes everything

Why the night run changes everything

Ten kilometres through a closed city after dark. Runners describe it as the least competitive race they have ever run.

Without daylight, pace becomes a feeling instead of a number. Most runners report finishing faster than planned without ever checking their watch.

The route is lit only by the festival installations, which turn every corner into a different colour temperature.

It is also the shortest distance between the sport programme and the night programme: the finish line is two hundred metres from the main stage.

Did the 21K last year and this read brought the whole thing back. That last kilometre under the yellow arch is unreal.

Anyone else pairing the morning social run with the afternoon recovery circuit? Best combo of the week, my legs said thank you.

The sprint lab data was the highlight for me. Walked out with my own gait model and instantly changed how I warm up.

New to SPORTIFY this year — is the Friday night set beginner friendly or should I start with the rooftop sundown?
